Rick began his professional career in the insurance industry in 1974, and has been affiliated with Great-West Life and other companies over the years. At Great-West Life, Rick was appointed brokerage manager in 1978, and Sales Manager in 1983. As sales manager, he was responsible for hiring and training new sales recruits. In 1993, Rick returned to the sales field, where he remains today. With over 41 years of industry experience, Rick specializes in insurance, investment & retirement planning, group benefits and pension plans.

Rick is past President of the Life Underwriters Association, has his Bachelor of Commerce (honors) from the University of Manitoba, as well as his designations as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and Chartered Financial Consultant (CH.F.C.).

Rick is married, and he and his wife, Debbie, have three adult children. They also have three active grandchildren, and Rick relishes family time with them, especially at their summer beach cottage. Rick enjoys sports, and in the winter, he is a goalie with the Winnipeg Great-West Life Hockey League. When away from the rink, Rick and Debbie enjoy vacations to the warmer climates down south.
